Can I get help with my fees
Depending which course you wish to study you may be entitled to a reduction in fees.
Courses marked 'No fee reductions available'
The College does not receive any funding for these courses and all students must pay the full fee listed on the course information.
Courses marked 'Fees may be waived if you are in receipt of certain benefits'.
Students who are aged 16-18 will get their tuition fees and exam/registration fees paid for. They will only be liable for any course related costs, e.g. uniform, equipment, etc.
Set by the Skills Funding Agency, some individuals 19+ can claim remitted fees, please visit the Fee Information page to see if you can get a reduction on the fees.
Please note that for some courses you need to live in certain postcode areas to claim a fee reduction. Please contact the Telephone Enquiry Centre on 0115 914 6414 for clarification.
Courses marked 'Funded by PCDL'
Some courses are funded by PCDL (Personal and Community Development Learning). Personal and Community Development Learning is learning for personal development, cultural enrichment, intellectual or creative stimulation and enjoyment. It is also learning developed with local residents and others to build the skills, knowledge and understanding for social and community action.
PCDL funded courses are targeted specifically at people living in certain city postcode areas:

NG3 second part beginning 1,2,3,4,5,6,7
NG4 second part beginning 1
NG5 second part beginning 1, 2,3,4,5,6,8,9
NG6 second part beginning 0,7,8,9
NG7 second part beginning 1,2,3,4,5,6,7
NG8 second part beginning 1, 2, 3,4,5,6
NG9 second part beginning 2
NG11 second part beginning 7, 8, 9
If you live in one of the postcode areas listed above and receive a means tested benefit, the course is Free. If you live in one of the postcode areas listed above and DO NOT receive means tested benefits you pay the fee stated. If you live OUTSIDE of the postcode area fees will be charged at the College Cost Recovery rate of £4.00 per hour regardless of whether you receive a means tested benefit.
Funding restrictions mean learners can only enrol on one PCDL funded course during the academic year. Therefore, if you enrol on more than one PCDL course or a follow on PCDL course, fees will be charged at the College Cost Recovery rate of £4.00 per hour regardless of whether you receive a means tested benefit.
