This qualification is ideal if you are a professional who wants to work in administrative support roles in public or private sector organisations, or if you want to improve your administrative and supervisory skills or gain employment in this area.
You will develop business admin skills in your workplace. A range of core units will be delivered in the classroom on day release.
You have the option to choose business administration tailored to the following environments depending on your job:
- General business administration
- Customer service
- Social media
- Legal administration
A significant amount of on-the-job training is undertaken in the workplace. This is a demanding but interesting and enjoyable course in which you’ll gain valuable workplace experience in an administrative role.
Most jobs in this sector are office-based with a typical 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday working week.

Employers and universities really value skills in English and maths. So, building on your existing knowledge of these subjects will help you prepare for your future career or further study. *If you are aged 16-18 and have not yet achieved GCSE English Language and Maths at grade C or above/grade 4 or above don’t worry - we’ll support you with the right lessons to increase your confidence in these essential employability skills.
Our courses are designed to help you achieve your ambitions, whether you plan to go on to a higher level of study or start a career. Employability and study skills will be included to help you develop the broad skills required by industry. They will vary from course to course and are designed to meet local and national employer needs.
Advanced Apprenticeship in Business Administration
Up to 18 months
Adults who are aged 19+ with appropriate industry experience but without the necessary qualifications are welcome to apply.
All applicants will be required to undertake an assessment in English, maths and ICT prior to enrolling.
|Teaching & assessment||
You will develop an electronic portfolio of evidence against the requirements of the qualification. Evidence can be generated by observation of your workplace, witness testimonies, case studies or personal accounts of events. Online tests may be used to confirm your knowledge and understanding.
