Course outline

Are you planning a holiday and want to learn the basics in Spanish, or are you working abroad and want to feel confident about communicating in a foreign county?

Whatever your reason for choosing to learn Spanish, this short course will provide you with the basic language skills you need to feel comfortable in the country you are visiting.

You will learn some simple phrases and useful vocabulary to help you make the most of your trip to Spain or one of the Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America.

Students will learn to introduce themselves, their family members and friends; use appropriate greetings; ask for directions (and understand the reply!) and how to order drinks, tapas and meals in bars and restaurants.

You will also learn to talk in simple terms about yourself, where you come from, and your likes and dislikes. This course will include brief introductions to Spanish customs and culture.
