Course outline

This course offers students the opportunity of time and expertise of working in a specialist ceramic studio to extend skills and knowledge beyond a beginners course. Working alongside like-minded students to exchange ideas and share skills is a further benefit of this course.

You will be able to to negotiate individual projects with the tutor in order to extend ceramic skills and knowledge in either hand-building or throwing techniques. Opportunities to further develop understanding and application of glazing and decorative methods will be incorporated into the course.

Teaching & assessment

Students work will be assessed as an on-going part of the course.

Progression

Students will be able to progress onto further studio practice courses to extend and develop their creative skills.

Additional information

Students should wear suitable clothing – this is a practical course.

There is an additional materials fee of £10 to cover basic raw materials and contribute towards firing costs. Additional specialist materials can be purchased from the College.
