Course outline

This course is perfect if you enjoy learning about holistic therapies and want hands-on experience of administering treatments.

You’ll learn about the anatomy and physiology of the body and how to administer holistic therapies including: Swedish massage, reflexology and aromatherapy. As part of you programme of study you will be expected to complete a work experience placement in a salon or therapy centre of your choice.

You can expect a hands-on learning environment from day one, a calm and relaxing setting within which to learn and the opportunity to practice your learning in our commercial salon. As part of your course, you will also be required to obtain work experience.

This course is based at the Clarendon Campus.

Entry requirements

You’ll need 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4 (A*-C), including English Language and Maths – both of these must be grade 9-4 (A*-C) or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and maths.


Choose to follow with further study on a beauty or hairdressing programme or into a salon as an employed holistic therapist. You could also progress onto spa management, perhaps pursuing a management qualification at degree level.
