Ceramics — Working with Porcelain (Intermediate) — Part-time
Course outline
This course is perfect if you have an interest in ceramics particularly the purity of porcelain, if you enjoy the idea of combining different materials, if you want to create wearable jewellery or simply enjoy working at a small scale.
Porcelain is the purest ceramic material which is why it is referred to as ‘white gold’.
In this course we look to practice your skills and deepen your knowledge of different ceramic processes which lend themselves particularly to the production of porcelain components.
You develop your creative process by working on designs for your wearable pieces and the inclusion of other materials will be more considered and deliberate.
You will also expand your knowledge of the surfaces that can be applied to these pieces.
You will receive an induction to our well resourced 3D and Ceramics Studio, excellent tutor teaching, new knowledge and skills in porcelain jewellery, and opportunities to develop your creativity within clay porcelain processes.
Porcelain clay, stains and glazes will be provided on the course. If you want to develop your work further you can purchase art materials at our Art Shop based at 25 Stoney Street
