Fashion and Textiles (Level 2) - Full-time

Course outline

Perfect if you see yourself working as a designer in the world of fashion, textiles, soft furnishings, costume or even in fashion business.

You’ll learn a range of fashion and textile skills including cutting, construction, production and learn how to design for specific markets.

You can expect to be challenged creatively but at the same time feel well supported by expert tutors who will guide you through observational drawing, researching artists and fashion designers. You will develop 2D & 3D designs, production of patterns for garments, garment construction and experimental textile techniques.

This course is based at the City Campus (Adams Building).

Entry requirements

You’ll need 4 GCSEs at Grade 9-3 (A*-D), including English Language and maths – one of English Language or maths must be grade 9-4 (A*-C) (Functional Skills L1 can be used as equivalent to GCSE Grade 3 (D) and Functional Skills L2 can be used as equivalent to GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above.

Progression

Choose to follow with further study on a Level 3 programme in fashion and textiles, art or other related creative subjects. You could also explore employment and apprenticeship opportunities in fashion, design, dressmaking, tailoring or fashion buying/marketing.
