If you’re looking for a successful career in business, this course provides the knowledge, understanding and skills required, and is solid preparation for progression onto a top-up degree course.

Year 1 modules include:

  • developing business skills

  • managing communications
  • marketing tools
  • business finance
  • employment law
  • work placement (May to July)

Year 2 core modules include:

  • human resources management
  • business decision-making
  • research project
  • management and leadership

Small Business Enterprise:

If you choose to study this programme on a three-year part-time basis, you’ll study five modules in the first year and four per year after that.

A final year research project module allows you to combine many of the skills you’ll have developed to produce findings about a particular area of interest. This will help with your progression should you decide to top up to an honours degree.

You’ll complete an industrial placement in your first year. You’ll need to arrange this by February of the first year. The course begins with a two-week business skills module to introduce you to the study and research skills required at higher education level.
