YMCA Level 2 Award Group Indoor Cycling


3 days

Level Level 2
Entry requirements

You must be over 18 and be in possession of a YMCA/CYQ Level 2 Gym Instructor or Exercise to Music qualification.  You must also have a level 2 Functional Skills qualification or equivalent or GCSE English Language at Grade C or above.  You may be considered if you are able to prove that you have on-going industry experience but you will still need to have the Communications/English qualification. 

Teaching & assessment

Teaching is both theory and practical based. Internally assessed lesson plans, practical and evaluation.


This qualification may lead to employment as a fitness instructor in the fitness industry or progression onto:

  • YMCA Award in Circuit Training 2 
  • YMCA Certificate in Fitness Instructing - Exercise and Physical Activity for Children Level 2
  • YMCA Certificate in Fitness Instructing - Water -based Exercise Level 2
  • YMCA Certificate in Personal Training Level 3 
Additional information

Please note that if you are considering employment in the sports and fitness industry you may be asked by the employers to have a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.  If you have not already gained a Level 2 English or GCSE qualification you will be asked by the College to complete a level 2 diagnostic test before enrolling.
