You must be aged 18 or over at the start of the course.

We encourage mature students and applicants with non-computing backgrounds to apply, where relevant experience can be considered in place of formal qualifications. If you are a mature applicant you will need to demonstrate the ability to study at this academic level and have a genuine interest in the subject area.

Teaching & assessment

Assessment is 100% coursework using a variety of:

  • Assignments
  • Case studies
  • Practical tests
  • Phase tests

The HND qualification is widely recognised in its own right and provides students with the skills required for employment in a range of associated professions.

After successfully completing the HND you could progress onto the third year of the BSc (Hons) Computing at De Montfort University as we have a progression agreement in place.

Alternatively you could top-up your qualification to a degree at a wide range of universities. The point of entry (e.g. second or third year of a degree) will depend on the chosen institution, modules studied and the grades achieved at HND.
