Introduction to Hospitality and Catering (SEND) (Entry 3) — Full-time

Course outline

If you have mild learning difficulties and/or disabilities and enjoy preparing and cooking food and you’d like to explore a career in the catering industry in a supportive environment, then this course could be perfect for you.

You’ll learn about the importance of professional hospitality and the skills required to work successfully in the industry including how to communicate effectively with customers, developing ideas for menus and food and beverage preparation and service.

You can expect real hands-on experience whilst working with like-minded people. You’ll learn in industry-standard kitchens providing meals for paying customers and you’ll complete a range of assessments to develop your ability to deliver good customer service in a business commercial environment.

In addition, you will study English and maths and develop confidence to enhance your personal, social, and employability skills.

This course will be held at the Arthur Mee Centre in Stapleford for the first term and will then move to the brand new SLDD centre at our Basford campus in January 2025.
