Introduction to Work Skills

Course outline

You will be shown how to build and produce a CV. We will also work with you to build your confidence so that you can complete application forms and have a full understanding of how to create the best chances of getting an interview and securing the job that you want.

We will also teach you about how to search for job vacancies on relevant websites and go through interview techniques including how to make the most of your chance to sell yourself and your skills, and how to answer different questions.

You will also learn the basics in word processing and how to use basic computer packages.

You will get a support advisor at the centre and a tutor.

  • Entry 3 English Reading/Writing/Speaking/Listening
  • Studying your first community funded course
Progression

By attending the course you will have increased your knowledge, skills and understanding to help you move on and take up further opportunities open to you.

Your tutor will discuss progression opportunities with you at the final session as part of the course evaluation. These may include other community courses, employability skills courses, volunteering opportunities and progression onto other Nottingham College courses.
