Course outline

This course is perfect if you want a course that can help you on the path towards gaining a career in computer technical support and will give you more advanced knowledge. 

You’ll learn units including: 

  • customer support provision for the ICT professional
  • networking principles
  • maintain ICT equipment and systems
  • install, configure and integrate networked hardware and software
  • ICT systems and network management
  • business concepts 
  • creative problem solving

You can expect a largely practical course with lots of hands-on computer work. The course will help you to understand the role of technical support in the workplace and to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to undertake this role.

This course is based at the City Campus (Maid Marian Way).

Pearson Edexcel Level 3 Diploma in IT

Duration

2 years

Entry requirements

You’ll need 5 GCSEs at Grade 9-4 (A*-C), including English Language and Maths – both of these must be grade 9-4 (A*-C) or Functional Skills level 2 in English and maths or a relevant Level 2 vocational qualification with English and maths GCSE grades 9-4 (A*-C).

Progression

Choose to follow with a Level 4 Diploma in ICT Professional Competence or work within the IT industry.
