This course can help you on the path towards gaining a career in computer technical support and will give you more advanced knowledge.
The course will help you to understand the role of technical support in the workplace and help you develop the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to undertake this role.
The course is largely practical with lots of hands-on computer work such as:
- Customer support provision for the ICT professional
- Networking principles
- Maintain ICT equipment and systems
- Install, configure and integrate networked hardware and software
- ICT systems and network management
- Business concepts
- Creative problem solving

Employability and study skills will be included to help you develop the broad skills required by industry. *If you do not have both GCSE English Language and Maths at grades A* to C/9 to 4, we may accept one of them at grade D/grade 3 in addition to your 4 GCSEs at grades A* to C/9 to 4.
Functional Skills may be accepted instead of GCSE English Language and/or Maths. Functional Skills Level 1 is equivalent to GCSE grade D/grade 3 and Level 2 to GCSE grade C/grade 4.
Adults who are aged 19+ with relevant industry experience but without the necessary qualifications are welcome to apply.
|Teaching & assessment||
This course will be assessed by completing a number of practical assignments graded at Pass, Merit or Distinction. There are no external exams, except for Functional Skills.
