Course outline

This course can help you on the path to gaining a career in computer technical support. You’ll gain advanced skills to help towards a more senior role.

The course will help you to understand the role of technical support in the workplace and help you develop the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to undertake this role.

The course is largely practical with lots of hands-on computer work such as:

  • Project management
  • Effective communication in business
  • Systems development
  • Personal and professional development
  • Local Area Networking technologies
  • Networking infrastructure
  • Installing and configuring a server
  • Configuring Windows systems

English and maths - skills for your future
Employers and universities really value skills in English and maths. So, building on your existing knowledge of these subjects will help you prepare for your future career or further study. *If you are aged 16-18 and have not yet achieved GCSE English Language and Maths at grade C or above/grade 4 or above don’t worry - we’ll support you with the right lessons to increase your confidence in these essential employability skills.
