Course outline

This course is perfect if you’re practically minded with good attention to detail, which is needed to mix and apply plaster to surfaces both in a business building and in a house.

You’ll learn about how to measure up, mix and apply cement and plaster to ceilings and walls, use various hand tools and how to work alongside others to complete a project.

You can expect to be taught in our dedicated construction centre where there is ample space to practice your skills. You’ll learn about health and safety in the workplace and you’ll learn how to apply maths in a practical way, such as measuring areas and volumes and mixing ratios of materials.

This course is based at the Basford Hall Campus.

You’ll need to complete an initial assessment before you start on the course which will involve you taking a skills test and completing an interview with the tutor.


Choose to follow with a Level 1 plastering course at Nottingham College or perhaps into an Apprenticeship.
