Course outline
This course is perfect if you’ve already got an understanding of plastering and want to gain the right skills at the right level to begin your career in the trade.
You’ll learn all about plastering in a commercial and domestic setting including:
- Internal solid plastering
- One and two coat rendering systems
- Mechanically fixing plasterboard
- Floor screeding
- Fixing and finishing dry lining
Customer service skills and working on large projects are also important aspects of this course.
You can expect a combination of practical and theoretical learning to give you a good degree of knowledge and practice in this tricky but satisfying art form. You’ll develop your skills within dedicated workshop spaces and with the full support of very experienced tutors, all with professional plastering backgrounds.

Entry requirements | You’ll need to have successfully completed a Level 1 vocational qualification in Plastering. For applicants aged 19+, relevant industry experience may be considered. |
Teaching & assessment | Assessment will include multiple choice papers, practical assessments and an external online test. |
Progression | Choose to follow with an apprenticeship in plastering or a related field or going into full-time permanent employment as a qualified plasterer. |
