This course is perfect if you want the opportunity to begin your journey in the exciting world of the media industry.
You’ll learn all the essential aspects of planning, preparing and producing radio programmes. You’ll also learn about jobs in radio (and how to get them!), as well as putting your skills into practice by broadcasting on the College’s radio network, which broadcasts across our campuses.
You can expect to develop research, production and writing skills in music radio; radio news; commercials; documentaries and factual programmes. All using professional broadcast radio software for playout, automation, audio logging, radio newsrooms and music scheduling that are used every day in commercial radio stations throughout the country.
This course is based at the Clarendon Campus/City Campus (Adams Building).
BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Radio Production.
You’ll need 5 GCSEs at Grade 9-4 (A*-C), including English Language and Maths – both of these must be grade 9-4 (A*-C) or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and maths or a relevant Level 2 vocational qualification with English and maths GCSE grades 9-4 (A*-C).
