Sewing Skills: Mixed Textiles Crafts


Course outline

This course is ideal for beginners and those wanting to learn how to improve their sewing skills.

We will teach you how to use the sewing machine including threading the machine and how to use the different stitches.

Teaching & assessment

Tutors will give regular verbal and written feedback. The course is non-accredited with a short work book to complete. You will be encouraged to set their own personal targets as part of this course.


You will be able to progress onto NCFE Craft Level 1 courses at the Textile Workshop, Sherwood.

Additional information

You will need to bring along your own fabric and basic sewing equipment – threads, scissors, tape, pins, tailors chalk. Sewing machines are provided but you are welcome to bring along your own machine if you prefer.
