Course outline

This course is perfect if you want to embark on a career in the sport, leisure or fitness industry. This is a practical, hands-on qualification designed to prepare you for employment in the sport, fitness and leisure industry.

You’ll learn about a range of different sports and about the many career options within the sport and leisure industry. The focus of the course is on sports leadership.

You can expect plenty of practical lessons at our Clifton campus. With playing fields, a gym and excellent links with local professional sports teams, you’ll get to enjoy learning and playing sport in a fun and friendly environment with experienced coaches and tutors.

This course is based at the Clifton Campus and is available with the Elite Football Academy.

Pearson BTEC Level 2 Technical Diploma in Sport and Activity Leaders

Duration

1 year

Level Level 2
Entry requirements

You’ll need 4 GCSEs at Grade 9-3 (A*-D), including English Language and maths – one of English Language or maths must be grade 9-4 (A*-C) (Functional Skills L1 can be used as equivalent to GCSE Grade 3 (D) and Functional Skills L2 can be used as equivalent to GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above.

Progression

Choose to follow with a Level 3 programme in one of Nottingham College’s exciting sports pathways or you could also apply for one of the many apprenticeships available through Nottingham College. Alternatively you could seek employment within a wide range of roles in the sport, fitness and leisure industry.
