An Art and Design tutor from Central College Nottingham has been selected to exhibit her work at the Huddersfield Art Gallery after being named winner of the 2014 ‘West Yorkshire Print Workshop Flourish Award for Excellence in Printmaking’.
Michelle Keegan from Basford is the course co-ordinator for the Foundation Degree in Fine Art. For the last 20 years Michelle has been making prints and exhibiting widely, both in the UK and internationally. She combines working from her own print workshop with her role as course coordinator where she shares her extensive knowledge and industry experience with students.
Now in their ninth year, the Flourish awards were established by the West Yorkshire Print Workshop to champion and showcase excellence in printmaking. In 2014 Michelle’s work was chosen by an independent panel of judges from a shortlist of artworks including linocuts, screen prints, etchings, drypoints, collagraphs and monoprints.
“It was an honour and privilege to have been selected to win the award last year and it’s great exhibiting so much work as part of the award."
The exhibition is open until 2 January. Images of Michelle’s work and further information can be found at: http://keeganarts.com
