News: Awards triumph for Nottingham College!
The College was honoured at the City & Guilds Lion Awards on 15 June, winning the UK Centre of the Year award at a prestigious ceremony held in London’s iconic Kensington Roof Gardens.
This is the first win for our newly-merged college and reflects the skills and hard work of all involved. This fantastic accolade recognises how we’ve taken the best bits of Central and ncn and combined them to develop a quality framework that supports the beginning to end journey of a City & Guilds learner at Nottingham College.
The Lion Awards, often labelled the ‘Oscars of skills education’, marks the culmination of the Medals for Excellence awards programme, which dates back more than 100 years. Adrian Stanfield from ncn and Verity Holman from Central accepted the award on behalf of the College from BBC Breakfast presenter, Louise Minchin.
Nottingham College was only formed on 8 June so to win an award already is fantastic news! The College places huge emphasis on providing all our students with an outstanding learning experience preparing them for higher education and the world of work so to be recognised by City & Guilds for our efforts is a wonderful achievement.
Yultan Mellor — Vice Principal, Curriculum
Congratulations to all college staff who were involved in putting the winning submission together.
