About Great Britain Deaf Football
Great Britain Deaf Football is a completely self-funded organisation relying on donations and fund raising activities. Our history goes back to 1924 and as well as taking part in tournaments we organise training & participation days throughout the year to develop & encourage deaf football.
Great Britain U23’s development team was set up in May 2014 to create a pathway to develop the GB Mens team. The aim of the development team is to encourage young deaf footballers to develop their skills and give them the opportunity to represent their country. It also serves as a feeder squad into the Mens team so that when experienced footballers retire from the Mens squad the new players have already been developed to the required international standard to feed into the GB Mens team.
The development squad will be sending an U21 team to the first ever European U21 deaf football championships in Poland this summer and GB Deaf football are currently raising much needed funds to send the team to the tournament.
In preparation for the tournament the team will be attending a number of training camps and competing in some friendly football matches to prepare the players for the tournament.
All donations would be greatly received.
If you would like to make a donation we have a Just Giving Page which can be found at https://www.justgiving.com/GBDF and the Great Britain Deaf Football Website can be found at http://britishdeaffootball.com/
