Central College was delighted to host Clifton North Councillor Pat Ferguson on Tuesday 22 November.
The Councillor met some community learning champions in Clifton before visiting the College’s Clifton Centre where she was given a guided tour and met a range of students.
I was delighted to visit Central College and meet such dedicated staff and department heads. There is so much on offer, I loved learning maths through the sport of darts, the creativity of design and the many opportunities for gaining taster experiences in many construction careers such as joinery and bricklaying. In spite of government cutbacks to the FE sector you're doing a great job, well done.- Councillor Ferguson
We were pleased to be asked to show Councillor Ferguson some of the work we do in the local community. The College runs a wide ranging programme of Family Learning courses where parents, grandparents, children and carers are involved in learning together. These activities are fun and interactive promoting self-esteem, confidence and family relationships, improving literacy and numeracy skills and increasing children’s attainments at school.- Claire Cullerton from the College's Family Learning Team
