Helen's bagged Olympic gold!

Published on: 22/08/2016 (12:00AM)

We’re delighted to report that our former student Helen Richardson-Walsh has won a gold medal with the GB Women’s Hockey team at the Rio 2016 Olympics.

GB beat the Netherlands on penalties on Friday 19 August after the game finished 3-3. Helen scored one of the penalties that lead the team to win gold!

Helen was a sport student at South Nottingham College in 1999/2000 (before we became Central College Nottingham). She has gone from strength to strength, winning bronze in the London 2012 Olympics and then smashing even that huge achievement by winning a gold in Rio.

On behalf of everyone at Central we would like to congratulate Helen and the GB team on their magnificent achievement!
