News: Sport Students Make a Splash at the Robin Hood Marathon

Sport students at Nottingham College gave up their time to volunteer at the 2017 Robin Hood Marathon on 24 September. 

After setting up their water station at ​“mile 18” and spending time practising and preparing, the students made their first official splash as the first of the 1103 elite runners passed by.

The students supported and cheered on the runners as they circled Colwick Country Park and headed back towards Lady Bay. As more and more runners started to head their way the students quickly established a routine and worked as a team to open and distribute the water pouches. With effective planning and precision, time seemed to fly by as 1103 people successfully finished the 37th Robin Hood Marathon.

It was a fantastic experience for the student being involved with a major sporting event and certainly something the team can take away and remember.
