Woodland princess scores win for beauty student

Forest Fairy 1

A Forest Fairy-themed makeover has won 19-year old Rachel Scott first place in a Beauty Therapy competition at Central College Nottingham’s Beeston Centre.

Rachel’s model was her friend Charlie Baker, 20, also from Long Eaton.

The competition was part of the Level 3 NVQ Nail Enhancement course and involved students coming up with inventive themes and applying a full set of acrylic or gel nail enhancements with nail art, plus make-up and a hair design.

Among the other creative themes were Pop Art, Egyptian and Alice in Wonderland.

My course is full-time but I also work in a salon and I can fit the hours around my job. I loved doing the competition, so in the end it wouldn’t have mattered what the result was, but I was happy when I found out I’d won. Charlie also liked her Forest Fairy look so that was lovely.
