The Care team offers education and training in early years and health and social care. All teaching staff have an extensive range of experience in the health, social care and early years sectors and offer a supportive learning environment.
These courses help students develop an understanding of people and how they develop emotionally, physically and psychologically. They are a challenging preparation for careers in community work, health services, residential care, nursing, teaching and social work.
Our Care and Early Years courses are the first step towards a career in the caring sector including working in nurseries, family centres, infants and primary schools and with children or adults with special needs or health problems.
This qualification develops the basic skills needed to care for a baby or young child. There is a choice of units – from setting a routine through to healthy lifestyles and the importance of play and learning.

These qualifications encourage an understanding of the knowledge and the skills needed to care for young children. They cover children’s growth,mlearning and development. There are also units to help with self-development.

This qualification provides the opportunity to gain a vocational qualification that gives a basic introduction to the sector. It includes the knowledge and understanding of child development and well-being necessary for working with children in a variety of settings. It is aimed at a range of learners who wish to be introduced to childcare and development for children aged 0-5 years.

Pearson BTEC Level 1/Level 2 First Award or Level 1/Level 2 First Certificate in Health and Social Care
These qualifications provide an engaging, robust, broad-based introduction to the Health and Social Care sector. It builds on learning for those who may wish to explore a vocational route and provides a good introduction to Health and Social Care for learners. The core units of this qualification provide learners with a solid foundation in human lifespan development and health and social care values.
