Courses within Engineering provide relevant and practical programmes to students, enabling them to progress into employment or onto a university course. Our lecturers and instructors are industry experienced professionals and will give students the skills to succeed in industry.
The Engineering facilities include modern industrial lathes, milling machines, drills, grinders and computer numerically controlled machines. The centre in New Basford is one of the largest fabrication and welding centres in the UK.
This vocational Level 2 qualification is intended for learners who require a Level 2 engineering qualification to provide them with a broad base of engineering understanding. It covers a broad range of engineering skills including, CAD, electronics, mechanical engineering, maintenance, fabrication and welding, pipework installation, installing security systems and motor vehicle maintenance. This qualification provides an excellent base for progression to a range of Level 3 engineering qualifications and also into employment and apprenticeships.

The Edexcel BTEC Level 1/Level 2 First Award in Engineering provides an engaging, robust, broadbased introduction to engineering. It provides underpinning knowledge, understanding and practical skills that reflect the needs of employers and higher and further education professionals. It presents knowledge, skills and understanding in a meaningful work-related context, to allow learners to understand theory and application.
