Art & Design and Photography

Fine Art03

Our students achieve very high standards indeed and they regularly win awards and competitions. Our students have also exhibited at major galleries, including The National Portrait Gallery and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Many of our students have the opportunity to work with practicing designers and artists through visits to studios, work placements, workshops, seminars, ‘live briefs’ and Creative Industry Events.

Students have the opportunity in participating in residential visits in the UK and Internationally, alongside exciting opportunities to get involved in funded International Projects providing the benefit of travel, extending vocational design skills and widening cultural knowledge. The Creative Enterprise Scholarship is open for all Level 3 students to apply for and provides an exciting experience that will boost students creative ‘start up’ careers and CVs.

The Scholarship provides students with one-to-one mentoring with professional artists/designers/makers in the East Midlands, leading to a two week work placement in Karlsruhe, in Germany, Nottingham’s twin city. Central College Art and Design has established links and partners within the Creative Sector in Karlsruhe, including the Carl Hofer Schule and the Karlsruhe City Council, providing an invaluable experience for any dedicated and talented student.
