Find out why a Sport course at Nottingham College could be the choice for you below.

Further Education courses

A sport course with us will open up an exciting range of careers – for example, our students have gone on to become personal trainers, PE teachers, nutritionists, leisure managers, professional sports coaches and even professional athletes.

You can join one of our Sport Academies across a variety of sports and our course timetables are managed to allow you to participate in weekly practical sessions. Regular AoC Sport and Conference Youth Alliance leagues/competitions are available to students aged 16-18, as well as matches with other colleges and teams for older students wish to participate.

Depending on your course choice, you may also have the opportunity to experience residential trips in the UK and overseas, plus UK day trips to complement your course. The sport department also offers a comprehensive work experience/volunteering scheme through our exclusive partnerships in the world of sport.

In the past few years, these fantastic opportunities have seen students travelling to West Africa to coach sport in The Gambia and also, more locally, coordinating one of the largest tennis events for children in Europe at the Aegon Nottingham Tennis Open on behalf of the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).

Higher Education courses

Studying a university-level sport course at Nottingham College has many benefits, including:

  • There is the option to earn further industry specific qualifications
  • Teaching staff have a combination of sport science experience, postgraduate and teaching qualifications and industry experience
